Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

In the rainforest of the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park live on the 300 mountain gorillas. These are about 50% of the world population. The park is the most accessible to gorillas in Uganda. In addition to the mountain gorillas, there are nine other primate species such as chimpanzees, white-nosed and full-spotted monkeys in the park. The park is also home to the indigenous batwa group. The rainforest contains a rich variety of wildlife with approximately 305 species of birds, 200 butterfly species and 14 snake and 43 reptile species. Several trails that can be taken with a guide lead into the rainforest.

Activities in the park


Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Gorilla trekking is the main attraction of the park. The group size for the trekking is limited to a maximum of 8 tourists. The duration of the trek is different. With luck, the guides and clues find the gorillas after 30 minutes, but it can take up to 4-5 hours to be in the middle of a Goriallagruppe. There are a total of 9 gorilla groups in this area.
