Day 1 - Arrival (D)
After arrival in Entebbe, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kampala.

Day 2 - Green forest, small villages, past banana, tea and cotton plantations - Kasese (B,L,D)
In the morning you will be picked up from your hotel in Kampala. Passing several small villages, green forests, banana and tea plantations, the approx. 7-hour drive leads to Kasese.

Day 3 - Start Trekking in Okorukumi - Omukorukumi Camp Site (2,210m)(B,L,D)
From Kasese we drive by private car to Okorukumi, the starting point of the trekking.
After the registration, the path leads past a rich flora with a magnificent view of the valleys of the Ruwenzori Mountains. With a bit of luck you can see black and white Colobus monkeys or a Turaco on this first day of hiking.

Day 4 - Trekking to Rwigho Camp Site (3,300m)(B,L,D)
Through rainforest and heathland we will now overcome a total of 1,100 vertical meters.

Day 5 - Moorland and moss-covered trees to Kambeho Camp (3,600m) (B,L,D)
Through heathland and moss-covered trees we start towards Kambeho Camp. The further you go into the mountains, the more impressive the landscape becomes. More and more giant senezia line the way. With a little luck, sunbirds can be observed at the fruit stalls of the senezia or you see the rare red dyker.

Day 6 - to Lake Mughuli Camp (3,750)(B,L,D)
Today we hike to the gorgeous Lake Mughuli. On this day, the mystical fairy-tale-like landscape continues to be crossed. At the fabulously situated Lake Mughuli we set up our tents.

Day 7 - wonderful mountain panorama to Lake Bukurungu Camp Site (4,091m)(B,L,D)
Giant lobelia accompany us on this hiking day. When the weather is clear, we can enjoy a wonderful mountain pan flavor with beautiful views of the peaks of Mt. Stanley, Margherita Peak and Alexandra Peak. The Mt Gessi can also be seen.
Hiking time: 3-4 hrs.

Day 8 - Climbing Mt. Gessi (4,715m)(B,D)
Today we climb the first summit of our trekking tour. From the summit there is a wonderful view of the Congo area and the surrounding peaks of Ruwenzori.

Day 9 - Climbing Mt. Emin (4,791m)(B,D)
With Mt. Emin we climb up to the most northern peak of Rwenzori. The massif lies entirely on the Congolese side.
Ascent to the summit: 3 hours

Day 10 - to Elena-Hut (4,540m) (B,D)
Today we change from the Bukurungu Trail to the Central Circuit. The path leads to the simple Elena hut. The hut serves as a starting point for climbing the third highest peak in Africa, the Margherita Peak (5,109 m)

Day 11 - Climbing Margharita-Peak (5,109m) (B,L,D)
Today, the ascent of Margherita Peak awaits you. Already before sunrise, the Elena Hut is broken up to reach the summit as early as possible. The path leads over rocky terrain to the glacier. Arriving at the glacier, we put on the crampons and ropes. Finally, a ridge is reached over the steep and column-rich glacier. Over this rocky ridge, you reach the Margherita Peak with the help of rope securing devices. From here, in good weather, there is a fantastic view over the mountain peaks and into the Congo.
After enjoying the view, the ascent path back to the Elena hut. The path to the Kitandara Hut leads through the fantastic variety of plants of the Ruwenzori.

Day 12 - Fresh Field Pass (4,215m) - mystical fairytale forest - Guy Yeoman Hut (3,505m) (B,L,D)
Directly from the Kitandara Hut, you will climb over a block of stones and along a gully to the Fresh Field Pass (4,215m). An open space with tussock grass leads to the rainforest. In this section of the route the atmosphere becomes more and more mystical. Huge trees with multicolored moss-hangings truly make a fairy-tale forest stand out. Downhill and past a beautiful waterfall you reach after a 6-hour hike in the middle of a flower meadow lying Guy Yeoman hut (3,505 m).

Day 13 - Mahoma trail - Lake Mahoma Camp Site (2,700m)(B,L,D)
We leave the Central Circuit and hike on the Mahoma trail to Lake Mahoma Camp.

Day 14 - Mahoma Trail - Nyakalengija
On Mahoma Trail we descend to Nyakalengija. This town is the starting point of the Central Circuit. Your driver will you take to your hotel.

Day 15 - Kasese - Kampala (B,L,D)
Today ends your exciting travel in the Ruwenzori Mountains. Your driver will take you to your hotel in Kampala.
